Hi, my name is Katie Greeley and I am an English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher for Brookdale Community College's Adult Basic Education (ABE) program. A couple of years ago I had the pleasure of meeting my amazing, thoughtful, and determined student, Maria.

 

In 2017, Maria received the devastating news that there was a tumor in her brain. Being a mother of 4 young children, this news completely changed her and her family's lives. After enduring severe pain, headaches, and countless sleepless nights, Maria had her first 5-hour brain surgery. Through this experience, Maria also had a stroke, causing her to lose feeling in the left side of her body. Flash forward to 2021, when the tumor returned and the doctors needed to intervene again. Due to several complications, the doctors needed to operate on Maria several times and she spent a lot of time in the hospital. Maria is now unable to walk and write but is able to get through each day with the love and support of her husband, children, and mother.

 

Maria is the type of person who, even through all this pain and suffering, still attended my English classes with a smile on her face. She never hesitates to help others and would do absolutely anything for someone in need which is why I am now asking for you for YOUR help.

 

I am collecting donations for Maria and her family to assist with medical bills and treatment in hopes to take some of her financial burdens away so she can focus on healing and spending time with the people she loves. No family should have to go through this, not to mention a caring hardworking mother who wants to provide everything she can for her children. Any size donation will be greatly appreciated and would be a blessing to Maria and her family.

I want to share through this Social Network MY TESTIMONY!!! *** FOR THE GLORY AND HONOR OF THE LORD JESUS ​​CHRIST *** that they see that the God whom I serve is REAL and POWERFUL and the way in which GOD works and works is when He wants and how He wants and so that we let us realize that the wisdom of man is limited and reaches as far as God allows it... Many already know me and know what happened to me. I am the mother of 4 children who have had to go through this situation in my life. I tell you that in 2017 they discovered a tumor in my brain. Which caused me many headaches and each time they became stronger to the point of not being able to sleep from the strong pain! And they operated on me that year and my body was left without strength. Today I understand that what God wants to do with me was something greater. It is something hard that he has had to go through, affecting not only my life but also my whole family... but God is faithful and does not abandon me because as he says in his Word: "No one will be able to face you every day." of your life; as I was with Moses I will be with you; I will not leave you, nor will I forsake you. (Joshua 1:5).” It was a surgery where the doctors said it would last 9 hours but it was only 5 hours. But when I woke up I didn't feel my whole left side of my body since I had a stroke. I thank God for my family who was always by my side and continues to be, helping me in everything I need. From the moment the news of what was happening to me was known, all my family, friends and brothers from the Churches who know me, prayed for me! And I know that God listens to each one of them!!! In 2021, four years later, they had to intervene again. There were some complications that had to operate on me several times and they spent a lot of time in the hospital, but I THANK GOD for LIFE and the opportunity it gives me to be with my Children and Family. Thank you all for keeping me in your prayers. Thank you very much to my mother who helps me in everything, to my husband because he is always by my side. It is shown that the time for Miracles has not yet passed and that the Opportunity to serve the Lord is TODAY!!! Let's not say that tomorrow... because tomorrow does not belong to us and only God knows it! It is not enough just to believe, it is necessary to confess our sins and change our way of living... as it says (Romans 10:9-10) "if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God the dead raised him, you will be saved.” “Well, with the heart one believes for justice, but with the mouth one confesses for Salvation”. Now I can say that CHRIST HAS GIVEN ME THE VICTORY!!!
