Hello family and friends,
My name is Mayra, Luisa’s youngest daughter. On behalf of my siblings and I, I am here to ask for help in giving my mother a proper goodbye. I was her caregiver and she lived in my home for 1.5 years. Between hospital bills, medications and the burial, we just need some financial support.
Maria Luisa aka Luisa or Marilú, was born in Michoacán and was the only daughter and youngest of three to her parents Sara and Francisco. She established her life in Santa Clara where she met and married our father David. Luisa had three children 1 boy and 2 girls and six grandchildren 3 boys and 3 girls. Luisa became a widower in 2002.
If you knew her, you knew she was always in the kitchen cooking and cleaning. Her speciality dish that she was known for were her Sopes and she wouldn’t eat or serve herself until everyone else was fed. She loved music and you’d find her dancing at parties, even by herself if no one else wanted to dance. For birthdays, holidays and Mother’s Day all she wanted was flowers. She didn’t need anything or want anything else. Oh and don’t let her find a stray cat because she will take it home, give it a bath, feed it and either keep it or gift it. Somehow I ended up with two of her rescued cats LOL. She was goofy and she would make a joke about almost anything and everything. 9 times out of 10 her jokes would end up being dirty and leave everyone laughing, at times laughing so hard that they’d end up crying.
Luisa was diabetic and had high blood pressure. She had her first stroke February 2022 which then led to her being diagnosed with dementia and schizophrenia. She battled with depression as a young child and more so when her husband passed way. She had her second stroke October 2022 and slowly, her body and brain began to decline in functioning.
On Sunday October 29th Luisa gained her wings and is now reunited with her husband, parents and siblings.
