This GoFundMe page is being set up to help our very dear family friend, one of my mother's best friends and my brother's godmother.
Sadly Maria was recently informed that she has a thyroid tumor that is pushing on her vocal cords making it difficult for her to breath and swallow and needs an operation. As you may or may not know, the current situation in Venezuela is absolutely horrible. She is able to get this operation, but has been informed that the price will continue to go up the longer she waits. Her health is also at risk the longer she waits.
Maria is unable to work due to other medical conditions, and we want to help her as much as we possibly can. It is unfortunate that Venezuela is in the situation it currently is, and that people get sicker and die daily because they are not able to get the medical care they need and deserve.
Family is everything to Maria, she is a loving and caring person, and deserves a chance to try to fight this disease that affects so many these days.
