Dear friends and family,

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we share the unexpected passing of a dearly loved soul, my husband's grandmother, Maria Guadalupe Torres. She was a source of love, generosity, and blessing to everyone who knew her. Maria, a loving woman with a big heart, welcomed everyone into her home without exception. She readily assisted anyone in need. Maria's love extended to her passion for cooking, ensuring everyone was well-fed at any hour. Maria could have hosted her own cooking show. She leaves behind many cherished recipes for her family, featuring her two secret ingredients: love and garlic. Always grateful, she prayed for everyone she met. If you saw her, she had a blessing for you. Her departure has left a void in our hearts, and we seek your support to help honor her memory.

In the face of this great loss, the family is facing unforeseen funeral expenses. Your support, no matter the amount, will make a significant difference in helping them navigate through this difficult period and pay for funeral home and burial costs. We are truly grateful for the outpouring of love and support received so far.

A wake for Maria will be held on Friday, January 26, 2024 from 6pm-10pm at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, In Lenoir.

A funeral service will be held for Maria on Saturday, January 27, 2024 at 11am, with Father Jose Enrique Gonzalez Gaytán officiating.

The family will receive visitors on Friday evening 6pm -10pm and one hour prior to the funeral service at the church from 10am-11am.

Queridos amigos y familiares,

Es con una profunda tristeza que compartimos el inesperado fallecimiento de un alma querida, la abuelita de mi esposo, María Guadalupe Torres. Fue fuente de amor, generosidad y bendicion para todos los que la conocieron. Su partida ha dejado un vacío en nuestros corazones, pero nos quedamos con todas esos buenos momentos que vivimos a su lado. Ella fue una mujer con un gran corazón, recibía a todos en su hogar sin excepción. Siempre estaba dispuesta a ayudar a cualquiera que lo necesitara. Su amor se extendía a su pasión por cocinar, asegurándose de que todos estuvieran bien alimentados a cualquier hora. Ella podría haber tenido su propio programa de cocina. Deja atrás muchas recetas queridas para su familia, con sus dos ingredientes secretos: amor y ajo! Siempre agradecida, rezaba por todos los que conocía. Si la veías, ella tenía una bendición para ti.

Ante esta gran pérdida, la familia enfrenta gastos funerarios imprevistos. Su apoyo, sin importar la cantidad, marcará una diferencia significativa para ayudarles a sobrellevar este difícil período y ayudara a pagar el gran costo del funeral y entierro. La familia recibirá visitantes el viernes por la noche 6pm - 10pm y una hora antes del servicio fúnebre en la iglesia de 10 am a 11 am.
