We are Yeni, Ariana, Jazmin, and Rosemary Escobar, and at this very moment It feels surreal that we are writing this remembrance to raise funds for our mom/grandmother’s funeral services after losing her battle with cancer.
Our mom/grandmother was born Maria Guadalupe Escobar in San Rafael, El Salvador in November 1959. She was the 6th of 8 children, making her the 3rd youngest child born to our grandmother. She was known for many things, but if we are to select a few, the words that best define her are hardworking, good hearted, loyal, and resilient, and if you are friends and/or acquainted with any of us sisters/granddaughter you might say we inherited some of these qualities. There is nothing our mom/grandmother could not conquer, she was our wonder woman, the ring leader of our little family of 5, and if there was a way out of challenging situations, rest assured she would find it and come out on top.
Did you say sports? Our mom/grandmother was a huge Dodgers Fan! And is why we all love and know all things baseball, especially Dodgers Baseball. If we weren’t listening to the Spanish radio broadcast, we were watching on T.V. dubbed in Spanish of course. She always found a way to bring us together as one. When she was not watching baseball, she loved listening to music, and boy did she love to dance. You could always count on a circle of people surrounding her at any party as she danced to merengue and maybe some salsa.
Our mom/grandmother was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer on April 1st, 2024, and God claimed her on May 6th, 2024. We are holding this fundraiser in our mom/grandmother’s memory, and as a way to help support our family.
Thank you in advance for your love, prayer, and support.
The Escobar Family.
