Heart Transplant
Donation protected
My name is Maria Flores; I am 63 years old, living in Central Florida.
It was the morning of October 22, 2009 while taking care of my terminally ill father, that I felt symptoms I did not recognize as a heart attack. Thirty six hours later I was airlifted to Tampa General Hospital. My condition was critical, my heart cells were permanently damaged, but I was blessed to have received the best care possible. The damage was irreparable. I have been implanted with a pace maker/defibrillator, a total of 11 stents and an infusion in an attempt to help my condition, until a heart becomes available. My goal is to live a better quality of life. My current diagnosis is cardiomyopathy/congestive heart failure, a disease that enlarges, and weakens the heart muscle. Not allowing the organ to pump blood efficiently.
In order to have my name added to the heart transplant list, I must raise funds for all expenses involved in the care and maintenance post-transplant. This includes care-giving, medications, and all the challenges related to the transplant. Any donation, large or small will be appreciated, I will be grateful from the bottom of my heart, so that I can continue in this life to serve my Lord and others around me. Thank you for your support.
