Maria Contreras Fight against breast cancer

Hi My name is Candice Hildreth!

A fellow mom and very good friend of mine Maria ( Del Rosario Tamayo) Contreras, is going through the fight of her life and I want to support her in anyway I can.

Maria is 50 years old, and on 8/25/23 she was diagnosed with stage two invasive ductal carcinoma (breast cancer) in her left breast. After receiving her diagnosis she immediately changed her diet and underwent her first lumpectomy.

During her lumpectomy they removed 3 tumors and one lymph node for dissection. In addition to her surgery, she began extensive research and second opinions.

When the results of her lumpectomy/ dissection came back they found that the one lymph node was compromised. She switched surgeons and they are now going to be performing a second surgery to remove additional lymph nodes to determine if any cancer has spread to additional places in her body. She has been told by her surgeon she will need to begin 30 rounds of radiation. Once her second surgery results are complete they will determine if Chemotherapy will be needed. Maria has a family history of breast cancer but is very strong in her faith and knows that God is capable of amazing things.

With all of this being said my heart hurts for this family. Maria is a loving wife to her husband Marlon,and an amazing Momma to her son Julian (16). Maria and her husband work very hard to provide for each other and Julian. Maria does so much for my family and many families in the community. She struggles with taking the time she needs to heal off work bc she is worried about finances and what kind of toll her sickness will take on her family.

I wanted to start this GoFundMe for Maria because she is such a strong woman and I know she is going to come out on the other side of this braver, stronger, and with a testimony of Gods work that she will spend her life sharing with others. If even $5 comes out of this it’s $5 her family didn’t have and that is worth it.

If you feel led donate anything $3, $5. Anything is helpful to this family. Funds donated will be used towards medical expenses and monthly bills due to time away from work. If you can’t donate your PRAYERS are even more appreciated bc we know Jesus Christ is the ultimate healer and there is no diagnosis that can hold back Gods will!

Maria- you are a very special friend to me and I count on you for so much. You bless my family and others beyond measure. You are my happy place and you have this beautiful light that radiates off of you. That light is Jesus and I can feel it in my core. In times like these we need to allow family and friends to lift us up and support us. You do SO much for your family and friends and it never goes unnoticed or unappreciated. I pray that you have peace that is beyond understanding and that this GoFundMe shows you how many people care and support you not only with donations but prayer. You are loved and cared for and will be healed by the hands of God.
