Hello Everyone,
With a heavy heart and sadness we have to share the passing of my mother Maria Castellanos.
She fought very very hard every single day until the day of her death.
September 14, she at her first surgery to remove 1 hernia. A surgery that she was asked to not bring anything extra with her because she was going to be released that same day. After hours of surgery, we were told surgery got complicated because they had to remove not 1 but 5 hernias. But she was fighting for a fast recovery to go home. September 20th came and we got to celebrate her birthday in the hospital with her.
1 week after her 1st surgery, she started having pain in which she went in for another emergency surgery. She came out of surgery with a colostomy. She fought again for a fast recovery to go home. On October 3rd she got transferred a Specialty Hospital for the care she need it. Where her recovery estimated 3-6months for her stomach to be infection free for her colon reconnection.
She will give her best every single day because in her words "ya quiero estar bien, quiero pararme y correr a mi casita". She eventually had progress that gave us hope that she was going to go home soon but ...
December 21, she got intubated. Her pancreas and all other organs started to fail along with an infection that lead to sepsis. She fought everyday until her heart stopped, December 23rd.
She left behind an amazing husband. Jorge whom NEVER left her side and her 4 children; Jorge, Marco, Vanessa and Bryan.
She had the kindest, sweetest heart. She would touch everyone that crossed her way with her big love. She was an amazing Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend. If you knew my mother, you would know how inseparable her and my dad were. Her absence leaves a big emptiness in our hearts but knowing she's in peace now with God.
With all the pain that death brings, it also brings financial stress. But we are thankful for any support and prayers that are given.
