This is my sister Maria, her husband Mike, and their son. This morning, Mike was fine one minute and couldn’t breathe the next. He’s unconscious and intubated currently. Doctors are now telling us his heart could be failing.. and (at best) he’ll be in the ICU for a minimum of a week. They’re unsure of what this severe infection is and why it’s causing “failure” .

What make a horrible situation even worse is being nowhere even close to home. They’re near the beach, (in the middle of a family vacation) roughly FIVE hours from home.

Maria’s immediate needs will be somewhere to stay for at LEAST the next week! Unsure of when they’ll be able to return home puts immense financial pressure on Maria with not only all their monthly bills and rent, but being away from home and needing a place to stay, close to the hospital.
