Maria and family lost everything in a fire
Donation protected
On September 5, 2023 a fire destroyed Maria's house. She lost two cats as well (update cats were found this evening in the basement ceiling alive). Although she has insurance it is a very limited policy. Maria was widowed several years back and is the care taker of an adult daughter with some special needs. She herself also suffers from pulmonary fibrosis. Maria is a giving person and has been mom, grandma, and caregiver to so many over the years. Walking through the rubble today we were only able to take a few photos, no cloths, no toiletries, and no personal belongings.
She and family are starting today with nothing. She is not someone who would ask for help so I am asking for her.
We would like thank all the Fire departments that responded, Maplewood, St.Paul, North St.Paul, Vadnais Heights, Roseville, Oakdale, and Woodbury. The Firefighters did a great job on controlling the fire, my husband and son are both firefighters and this is tough for them being on this side of fence. They both know how hard they worked while at the fire. We would also like to thank the Maplewood Police Officers, and Lakeview EMS for their support and services.
