Dearest Ones,
In the eleven months since I wrote to you last letting you know the status of my health my life has continued have it's challenges and also its rewards. I am so grateful for all the wins of the past eleven months and I have see a light at the end of what seemed a difficult time. Over $6800 was raised through March 2019, more than half of what was requested.
Your generosity has continued to help me pay for medicine and treatments. I was gifted a massage chair to use to treat people at the end of December 2019. I can not lift the massage table anymore due to my back.

I have scheduled my first Shoden and Okuden courses for this March and May here in my home. Check my Newsletter The courses will be limited to no more then four students. Hopefully I will be able to start having some clients on a limited basis as I continue to heal. I will also be able to do consultations on Zoom. First I must be able to sit for longer periods of time.
I have consulted with a Orthopedic surgeon that fixes bad back surgeries. I have found that the spinal fusion I had 2 1/2 years ago is not fully fused and that is why I have been in excruciating pain. Because of this problem I have continued to loose the feelings in my legs and have secondary problems from the trapped nerves. I use a cane or a walker to support my steps. Thank goodness I have been using my Reiki hands to help. I also spend hours laying on my couch with a combination of ice or heat to ease the spasms in my legs. I also do not use any pain medication only a muscle relaxer and Tylenol over the counter. I had the pain pump removed from my body last December. It is my hope I will continue to come off more medication as my healing progresses.
I am in a process of seeing how to manage the pain in a different way other than steroids. If we are not successful then I will have another back surgery to repair the problems in my back within a few months, then rehab and recovery. One step at a time.
My car is falling apart. It leaks, and I am having issues with windows, doors and over $3,000 of needed repairs. it is eleven years old and has served me well. I can not afford a car payment and need to get it fixed. I also need to have $1,000 of dental work done. I am going to the UT Dental school in Houston in the special clinic which makes it more affordable. I have to raise the money to get the work done.
Like all of us. The best budget gets stretched, life slots opportunities to respond to and priorities are changed.
