Hi, my name is Janet and the Almuñécar community and I are fundraising for my friend Mari Carmen, a Spanish teacher and friend who lost one of her hearing aids in an accident.

On the 28th of May Mari Carmen fell badly and ended up in the hospital with stitches on her face. That was difficult enough until she realized that she had lost one of her ten year old hearing aids.

Hearing aids are important for everyone who needs them, but especially for a language teacher!

Normally she manages well on a modest fixed pension supplemented by her language teaching, but her budget doesn’t have room for an extraordinary expense as large as new hearing aids.

We, her friends in Almuñécar and her Spanish students, noticed that she was struggling to hear and couldn’t afford to replace the hearing aids. She NEVER complained, we had to ask. Her student Helen had the idea for this fundraiser.

We need to raise 3250 euros to cover the cost.
