Margot's medical expenses

When the announcement was made that Pamela and Marc were going to have a baby, everyone was over the moon for them as we all knew they would be the best parents when that time would come. They have been the playful, fun, and loving Aunt and Uncle to just about everyone’s children, blood or not.

Pamela’s pregnancy was going well, and she was on track to deliver a healthy baby girl at the end of April/beginning of May. But in her 3rd trimester, doctors discovered devastating news. Margot had Transposition of the Great Arteries(TGA). This meant her heart and the two main arteries that run throughout developed backwards and she was not getting blood to her lungs and therefore not getting oxygen enriched blood to her body.  She would need open heart surgery right after birth. This meant with just a short amount of time before Margot's arrival they had to line up and meet with the new team of Doctors who specialize in TGA switch as well as a new birthing hospital.

On April 1st, 2021 Margot Rose decided it was time to enter this world 7 weeks prematurely. Pamela gave birth at South Miami Hospital and Margot was immediately transferred to Nicklaus Children's Hospital where they performed a balloon atrial septostomy to keep her stabilized until the Arterial Switch Operation could be performed, which was an open-heart surgery.

Doctors performed the TGA switch surgery on April 5th. The surgery was a great success but the days and weeks after have been an emotional rollercoaster with multiple health scares for baby Margot. She has had some unforeseen complications such as a brain bleed, clots and abnormal lung scans for starters. She has been poked and prodded and has had about every type of test and medical procedures you could think of.

As of today, April 19, Margot is still in the NICU at Nicklaus Children's Hospital. Things are finally looking up for Margot and we thank God for it all!! We have hopes she will be released from the hospital within the upcoming week. Mama, Daddy and Margot deserve the peace of their home and time together as a family. For perspective, it was only 4 days ago that Marc and Pam were able to hold their daughter for the very first time!

I am asking if you all could please donate whatever you can to help go towards Margot's medical bills. Our goal is for them to experience the early stages of parenthood without the harsh reality of medical expenses.

Marc and Pam have been incredibly strong throughout this journey and just like we already knew, they are amazing parents! As for Margot, she is the ultimate princess warrior!
