In Memory of Margot Wilbert
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Mario. It is with deep sadness that I have to share the devastating news of my mother, Margot’s sudden passing on September 21, 2023. She was battling mental illness and a severe depression for years, and ultimately chose to end her own life.
Despite her battle, those who were lucky enough to know my mother knew how deeply caring, selfless and passionate of a person she was. She was a loving and devoted mother of 3. She loved everyone and all animals more than herself, and would go the extra distance without ever being asked, just to provide the best for those who she cared about. She was able to mask her feelings, and was always able to bring a smile to peoples’ faces, to the point where not many people were aware of the the daily battles she faced for years. Sadly, she was unable to ask or accept help, which tragically led to her choosing her own fate.
In this moment of extreme difficulty and darkness, we decided to launch a GoFundMe to help my family alleviate the financial burdens we are currently facing, to help cover expenses related to death and funeral services, therapy for her 3 children and costs related to bringing her remains back to the rest of her family in Prince Edward Island, where she can be finally reconnected with her late father, allow us to have a small service for her mother who is battling dementia and unable to come to Montreal, and other family members in PEI, and for her to finally be able to return home.
Any contribution, no matter how big or small, will help reduce stress caused by these bills, and allow us to navigate these hard times and help us slowly start moving forward.
Since my mother had an unconditional love towards animals, any extra proceeds will be donated towards animal charities, as well as suicide / mental health charities of our choice.
She leaves behind her 3 kids, Jasmine (26), Mario (24), and Joelle (21).
Thank you in advance for taking the time to read, your kindness, empathy and for keeping Margot’s spirit alive through your support.
