My name is Marissa Howard. My mom, Margie, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer this past spring. Before she was diagnosed, she ran an at home daycare where she cared for many of the neighborhood kids. My mom has always been the most selfless person I have ever met. I truly believe anyone who has had the privilege of knowing her can attest to that. She has watched children for over 20 years, and I honestly believe that she was put on this earth to take care of people.
My brother was diagnosed with brain cancer when he was just 9 years old, and I grew up watching how resilient both her and my father were during that time. She stayed with my brother 24/7 at the hospital for months, and continued to stay home to take care of him and other neighborhood kids. My mom has always put others before her, and she has never asked for anything in return.
My father’s hours at his work have been reduced, and my mom is currently not working due to her illness. I am currently a college student, finishing up my final year, but I have decided to move home to get a job to help my mom and my family.
Our family would greatly appreciate any donations made to help Margie with her fight with pancreatic cancer. Peace and love to all. Thank you.
