Margie Caisley Conservation Engineering Endowment

Hello Friends of Margie Caisley.

Margie slipped away from us on July 4th, 2022, just a few days shy of her 46th birthday -- yet again out in front of us all on the journey back to our stardust beginnings.

She died surrounded by and in the embrace of her beloved family, in addition to whom she leaves behind a bereft environmental conservation and restoration community.

Margie did her very best to prepare us to continue our Earthly work without her. I know she will be present in one way or another for many of us as we continue with her work and ours, but it will not be easy without her creative problem-solving energy, humor and wit, and goodwill.

In recognition of Margie's many gifts to us in the conservation and restoration community, we wish to honor her with the creation of a scholarship for students and/or early career professionals to help further their academic or professional growth in Margie's area of practice -- The Marjorie Caisley Conservation Engineering Scholarship for Women.

The structure of the scholarship will reflect the interdisciplinary creativity that was the hallmark of Margie's contribution to this corner of the engineering discipline and will ultimately be guided by Margie’s colleagues as these fundraising efforts unfold.

We ask that you reflect on the many ways Margie's presence and creative engineering contributed to the success of your work and to the well-being and recovery of our small corner of this planet. Then contribute what you can to this legacy endowment.

Thank you for sharing in our sorrow for her loss, sharing in the joy of having had Margie in our personal and professional lives, and in our desire to honor her legacy with the establisment of a scholarship in her name.
