Hello! On Monday Margarita got into some children’s Motrin which is highly toxic to animals. I called a vet who told me she would be ok on Monday. Monday night she threw up. Tuesday morning she had wet herself in bed. She was still doing ok. Wednesday night she had three accidents. I was on the phone with vets and trying to find one to take her . We ended up taking her to Guardian Emergency  Vet in Edmonton .

She was hospitalized with low functioning kidneys . She has been in the hospital ever since as she can’t keep hydrated despite iv fluids and her own drinking. She still cannot concentrate her urine which leads to wetting accidents. She has diarrhea but thankfully they are no longer bloody. We have spent $3800 on her so far and she may possibly be released tomorrow Monday if not every night she’s admitted is $1000. However that’s looking to be $2000 for medication and whatever else is needed to aid in her recovery. 

The saying pets become family is so misunderstood. The thought of losing Margarita was a scary situation that I hope to never be in again.  She is such a loved pet by all in our home. 

 

We have spent all that we had on saving Margarita that we have fallen behind in bills . Due to this unforeseen emergency we are asking for any sort of help so we can get caught up from this emotional and scary situation .
