Hello, my name is Eileen and I am raising funds for Margarita.

Margarita is my roommate's mother. I had the pleasure of meeting Margarita and my roommate's family last year during the Covid 19 shutdown. It did not take me long to understand why she is so appreciated and loved by so many. She loves flowers, gardening, cooking for others from her family recipes and watching her favorite Telenovelas.

Margarita and her family are part of our migrant farmworker communities who work and live here and supply us with the lovely fresh produce we all enjoy throughout the year. This work requires many long hours of hard physical labor in the sweltering heat of our Washington summers. Sadly, this work only pays minimum wage! Margarita is a caring and compassionate person that has been taking care of her family and puts the needs of others before her own.

Margarita was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer during the Covid19 shut down. She is no longer able to work and support her family while undergoing treatment (which is expected to last 6-8 months). In addition, Margarita relocated to Seattle to get the best possible treatment. While I am not related to Margarita or her son, I can see the pain in his eyes as he watches his mom endure this struggle and battle her cancer. I am asking for your help to support both Margarita and her family at a time where she is now unable to.
