2020 has not been anybody’s year but it has been especially hard for Margaret. Margaret has been experiencing hardships due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At the beginning of April 2020, Margaret was laid off from her driving job; forcing her into unemployment and has been struggling to pay her current bills since.
In October 2020, she was a victim to fraud. Somebody drained her bank accounts. She has been going back and forth with the bank trying to get her savings back, but the bank denied her claim. She has yet to receive anything back from the bank.
Margaret is the most loving and kind person, yet this year keeps trying to knock her down. After going in for a routine check-up, Margaret was diagnosed with grade 2 breast cancer. After many different appointments and body scans, her cancer team discovered that she has 3 lumps in her left breast, one measuring 8 cm.
Margaret is scheduled for a mastectomy and the removal of 12 lymph nodes on Dec. 11, 2020. The surgery can cost anywhere from $6,000-$10,000, not including the chemotherapy, radiation, and the medications she will need after her surgery. The hospital is expecting a payment by the time of the surgery. In addition, she is already about $2,000 in debt from meeting with her cancer team and imaging appointments.
Margaret is a strong woman and has battled a lot in her life. Breast cancer will not bring her down! Not only is Margaret a strong woman, but she is a sweet daughter, a kind sister, a loving aunt, and the best mother, grandmother, and great grandmother anybody could ever ask for. She is literally the glue to our family. She has a larger than life attitude and she is always laughing. She is the first person to offer help when there is somebody in need. But now she is the person who needs help. Please consider donating to help cover her medical expenses.
Anything is appreciated. Margaret and her family thank you.
