On the morning of Saturday, November 28th, seven year old Jeremiah runs into his grandmother Akiiki's room to greet her. Margaret "Akiiki" Kaijuka was found unresponsive at her residence in Herndon, Virginia. Unfortunately, life saving attempts by her daughter Vanessa and the paramedics were futile.
Margaret moved to America in 2006 and built a full life here with two of her daughters and grandson. She had a dedicated career in hospitality and spent over 12 years working at the Ritz Carlton. To those who knew her she was always loving, caring, and ready to lend a hand when needed.
Margaret dreamed of retiring in her home country of Uganda and it would be our great honor to fulfill her wish and lay her to rest at home. Margaret is a wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to many.
Her death is untimely and unexpected.
