Marcy Struna from Murdoch's

Hi, my name is Adriana De Anda and I am helping to raise funds in support of one of our community pillars, Marcy Struna.
Marcy is the Assistant Manager at Murdoch's Ranch and Home Supply and has been answering our questions for about 18 years. She has been our go-to for advice on horse tack, livestock vaccines, chicken feed and set up, pet food and more! You have a question? Ask Marcy! She'll know the answer. Marcy was born and raised in Chaffee County and has always been a support for our community.
I met Marcy when I was 19 years old. She was my riding instructor and instantly became family. She has been my mentor, a maternal figure, and ass kicker! She has also been my enabler in my addiction to horses. Without her, I would have lived an entirely different life and without horses.
On Wednesday, March 27th, Marcy and her pickup truck were headed into work at Murdoch's just as she did every day since 2006. But this day was different. This day, Marcy was in a rollover accident where she was ejected from her vehicle through the sunroof.
Marcy was found just minutes after the accident and the medical team moved quick to support her. She was put on the Flight for Life chopper and has been hospitalized in the Springs. She sustained injuries to her brain, her bones (neck, scapula and rib) and a few of her organs were injured in the jumble by her rib fracture.
Marcy's condition at this time is now stable. Her body will heal with time and care. Her most serious injury is a fractured vertebrae in her neck -- her C2. The C2 is quite close to the brain stem and limited mobility is going to be key for her healing. For this, she will need to be in a neck brace for three months and will be missing work.
Marcy is a tough cookie. She has always outworked everyone around her and she is a force to be reckoned! But these injuries are going to prevent her from caring for their ranch the way she has been doing for decades. Al is also down for a bit as he had his second cardiac ablation on his heart last Monday. He is limited on how much he's cleared to lift due to doctor's orders. Their son, Tristain, is shouldering most of the weight as far as chores go.
We are raising funds to assist with medical bills, hiring hands to help around the ranch and compensate for the time off from work for both Al and Marcy. Any support you can offer is greatly appreciated. Marcy sends her gratitude and — in true Marcy fashion — apologizes that she can't make it into work today. Silly girl.
