Marcy & Patrick Need Our Help!

On November 22, 2022, Marcy had a routine surgery to correct a painful bone defect in her foot when she walked. This procedure was as routine as they come, but for Marcy, became a Nightmare. Several days into her post-op recovery, Marcy noticed her toes appeared more bruised than they should be.
Assured everything was progressing as normal, she went into her post-operative appointment with high hopes for a full recovery. Unfortunately hers and Patrick’s world was turned upside down when they were sent immediately to the emergency department at Northwestern.
From Northwestern ED she was transported by ambulance to UVM Medical Center, her toes black and experiencing excruciating pain.
After a long night Marcy and Patrick were released for another Ortho follow-up after which the decision was made to admit Marcy to UVM. Her pain was off the charts.
Here is what we know:
She does not currently have any blood flow in her foot past the area where she had surgery thus the black/dying toes. She had an Angiogram Dec 1 which was able to rule out evidence of any blood clots. Current guidance is to allow her body to heal and decide for itself whether or not it can repair any damaged circulatory systems. She is currently able to be at home with a nerve block and medication, but this can change at a moment’s notice.
After an appropriate physician deemed amount of time, Marcy is likely to lose toes and possibly her foot.
Everyone who knows Marcy and Patrick knows their love for each other, their absolute love for their 7 dogs (ALL DOGS!), and the quiet selfless help they abundantly share with anyone in need. Marcy has been battling fibromyalgia for the last couple years and subsequently has not been able to work. Patrick has been a rock through this current (and all) experience and has missed work, taken next years vacation time and is just trying to manage everything that needs doing so Marcy can get through what is ahead of her.
The reality is there is there is a long road ahead.
There will be more surgeries.
There will be a lot more pain.
There will be a lot of worry.
Please help if you can .
