Marcus's request: "SMILE THROUGH IT"

Donation protected
At seventeen years old there are so many great things to look forward to in 2019. Graduation is approaching, prom is right around the corner and that great milestone of turning 18 is in sight. Marcus was so excited for all of this, but just days before prom, weeks before turning 18 and a little over a month before graduation, his world came crashing down.

Days before his much-anticipated prom, Marcus found out that the pain he was experiencing was actually a tumor that had grown to almost the same size as his testicle and he was immediately scheduled for emergency surgery to remove it. The hope for surgery was that the tumor was benign, and Marcus was in the clear. However, the results that came back were far from that. The tests showed that Marcus in fact had testicular cancer. He was diagnosed with Stage 3 multi-germ cell tumor. Not only was the tumor cancerous but it had now spread to his lymph nodes and his lung.

Now, instead of looking forward to turning 18 and graduating, he is looking at months of Chemo-therapy and the pain that will come with it and likely a major surgery to remove what does not respond to Chemo. Despite all this he has remained positive, his one request of his parents (Jeff and Maryann Lasco), six siblings, grandparents, friends and family, is to "SMILE THROUGH IT" with him.  The photo is of Marcus doing his best to smile through his first round of chemotherapy.

Marcus's family is asking for your help in addressing the medical bills that have already started to add up. His surgery and chemotherapy are very expensive, and your contribution would mean the world to them. Several of the family members have pledged that for every $100 raised, one person in his family will shave their head in support of Marcus, and as a thank you, to those that are generous enough to help.
