Marcus Terhune, our Food & Beverage Director at Eastland Suites Urbana needs our help.
Right after he started at ESU his wife and mother of his children passed away. They have 5 children together along with children from her previous relationship. Shortly after that Marcus was diagnosed with colon cancer; he completed 6 months of chemo, and remained positive and working the entire time. When he went back for his follow-up to hopefully ring the cancer-free bell, he found out his cancer had spread to his liver.
He is now living with stage 4 liver cancer and suffering from internal bleeding, and the pain is preventing him from being able to work. His doctors have given him 4 months.
On top of all this, on March 20th his house caught on fire, causing smoke and fire damage to one of the bedrooms. They are still living in the house and need at least $1500 to pay the deductible to have the house remediated.
Marcus really needs our help. He's been with our company for just over a year and within that time he has done wonders with our food and beverage department.
His food and creativity is top notch. Even through all the challenges he kept a positive attitude and a smile on his face.
