Marcus Lowe
Donation protected
On July 18th, we unexpectedly lost a classmate and close friend, Marcus Lowe. You couldn’t meet Marcus and not love him immediately. He stood out in class as both an exceptional student, supportive classmate, and class comedian. He was forever trying to make us laugh… or maybe not always trying to but succeeding either way. But at the same time, he pushed us to be our best and was always ready to lend a hand. Marcus was fiercely competitive and an avid sports fan. He turned study group quizzes into competitions and somehow managed to make it fun even as our nerves overwhelmed us as we prepped for tests each week.
We couldn’t forget Marcus if we tried, and we would never want to. Considering the mark he left on us in the short time we knew him, we wanted to make sure his mark was left on our Waterbury campus home as well. We are hoping to donate either a Pop-a-Shot game to the Waterbury campus rec room or a memorial bench which would be placed at the basketball court at the Waterbury campus. Depending on where we land with donations, we would love to do both. Any amount in excess will be donated to a scholarship fund for UConn's School of Nursing in Marcus's name.
Any amount that you are able to give is so very appreciated. Help us keep Marcus’s memory here at a place he loved. He would have been an amazing nurse and we would love to keep a piece of him at the school where he was chasing that dream.
