Marcus Haworth

As a friend and a fellow SES, RFS member, I am asking you to consider the below commitment that was made by Marcus over many years service to the people of the communities of QLD, most of these people strangers to him.

Please consider the amount of time he and his family donated over those years and if you like myself can relate to the thought of "What if that was me, would anyone reach out and help my family through this terrible time?".

Please give a little or as much as you can to assist Lorraine, Ryan and Lucas with the immediate costs that will be incurred with sending our friend and fellow member to his final resting place.

Marcus Haworth was a loving Husband to Lorraine a caring Father to Lucas and Ryan and to all who had much to do with him, an all round nice guy.

Many of us knew him as dedicated State Emergency Service and Rural Fire Service volunteer who lived his life serving the community.

As an SES Volunteer he served from 2011 and dedicated over 10 years of service to the community and the state of Queensland.

He was a dedicated Leading Field Operations Member and a gifted trainer.

As an SES trainer, Marcus had a gift for patience, taking time to guide others through high-risk disciplines like Work Safe at Heights, Flood Boat, Chainsaw and 4WD, always pointing out the real-world wisdom beyond the training manuals.

During the 2022 Brisbane floods, Marcus was heavily involved in flood boat operations that saw countless evacuations in heart breaking situations. Marcus was a true embodiment of community spirit and selflessness

Marcus was recognised for his service to the SES with the Meritorious Service Medal in 2022.

In his role within the RFS he served for over 6 years in his local brigade as a volunteer firefighter and trainer, helping build a strong and capable brigade for the local community. During the 2019 Fires he served many days and nights in arduous conditions helping to protect the lives and homes of other people. He was reliable and many like myself could always trust he had your back in any situation.

Rest in peace, Marcus. Your service has left an enduring mark.
