Marks (aka Marcus) Campbell Funeral Fund
This is Marks (aka Marcus) Campbell, a much-loved member of the Erskineville community. His vibrancy and generous nature touched the lives of countless people as they ran into him on a daily basis. Offering a warm-hearted hug while wearing a smile from ear-to-ear. An ex-serviceman, an Olympian, and a friend to many.
Helping someone carry their groceries home from the local shop, assisting with household chores for his neighbours, or injuring his leg while scaling brick walls to retrieve a child's football. These are just a few examples of the community spirit that came as second nature to him.
On Sunday 13th September 2020, Marks unfortunately passed away. His death was the result of a violent incident, within the same suburb that he was so much a part of.
His funeral is currently being organised and will be held at St Mary’s Church in Erskineville. An exact date is yet to be determined, but it will likely take place mid-October, 2020.
This fundraiser has been set up to give Marks the proper send-off that he deserves, located within the community that will miss him dearly. Any amount that you can donate will help with the various costs involved in organising his funeral. Some of which involve methods of including his family overseas, who are unable to attend due to Covid19.
If you have any memories or photos of him that you'd like to share, please reach out to have them included.
Funds will be donated in arrangement with the funeral director chosen by his next of kin. If you have any queries on finer details before donating, please don’t hesitate to ask.
