Hi, My name is Kate and I'm raising funds for my friend Marcus Braley and his two amazing kids, Ed and Ava. In December, Marcus suffered a cerebral stroke which landed him in the ICU in Grand Junction for several weeks. He then rehabbed there until he could come home to his employee housing in Snowmass.

As you can imagine, he hasn't been able to work since his stroke, and won't be able to for several more months. As a sole provider for two kids, the inability to work has been devastating. Social Security Disability won't kick in for at least two more months, and he has mounting bills to cover daily living in addition to rehabilitation. Plus supporting his kids so they can continue to pursue their passions - cooking for Ed, and volleyball for Ava.

Marcus and I met a few years ago when he commented on a widows group about spreading his late wife Ranaye's ashes around their favorite resort. (BTW #f*ckcancer) I commented that I did the same with my late husband's ashes, and from there our friendship was born. Despite losing the love of his life, Marcus finds joy everywhere.
