Marcos's fight to kick cancer

I am creating this campaign for the strongest family I know. This is Marcos Ortiz. In early October he was having unexplained pain, after a few hospital visits it was discovered that he had leukemia. Since that time Marcos has spent several months on Leutheran General's oncology floor. The family was so excited to hear that they had found a match to be a stem cell donor, his brother, but every time they think they are one step closer to transplant day, they are faced with yet another road block, another unfavorable test result.

While Marcos continues to fight this awful disease, his amazing wife is left to work to support them and their two young daughters. She has missed countless days of work, that have now gone unpaid as vacation time and gifted days off from generous coworkers have all been used up. They have two young daughters that unable to drive or help their mom, though I am sure they wish they could. The financial, mental and physical burden on this family is massive and beginning to be more than they can handle.  Sara is the back bone of the Interventional Radiology Department at Sherman Hospital. I always joke that she is the boss and we would be lost without her. While I joke, its true. We feel it every day she is gone, she is like our extended family. It kills us to see her in so much pain and struggling. She sits at a desk and helps our patients all day, every day with a smile on her face. It is time for us to help this family! I am starting this page for them because asking for help is sometimes hard. That is most definitely the case with the Ortiz family. They are proud, strong and independent and hard working.
