After a long battle with cancer, our dear friend Marcos Arrieta succumbed to his illness and gained his wings to join God's kingdom on March 10, 2024. He passed away at home, surrounded and comforted by his friends and family.
Marcos was a member and leader of Danza Apache SanJudas Tadeo and remained active in this group until his passing, always showing his unwavering faith and strength in God and our dear Virgen de Guadalupe. He continued to show up to practice and danzas with his matachines group, showing strength, courage and commitment to his Catholic faith.
Our dear friend was also an active member of the El Paso LGBTQ+ community, having participated in many drag show events as Miss Madison Nikole Fox, to include winning the crown of Miss Gay Suncity Latina USofA Newcomer (2019) and Miss Epic (2023). As an avid member of the community, her work and participation in the El Paso LGBTQ+ community will continue to be remembered by many for years to come.
Marcos is a great credit to his mother, Maria Perez and to all who loved him. He continued to smile and participate in all the things he loved without skipping a beat. His kindness and light-heartedness was contagious to all who met him, and radiated through his smile and kind demeanor.
His family is in dire need of financial help to cover all funeral and personal expenses accrued as a result of his illness and passing. All donations will be disbursed to his mother, Maria Perez to cover these costs. Details including funeral arrangements, viewing and wake will be provided as soon as these details are known. Thank you so much for your kind generosity and commitment to our friend, Marcos Arrieta. May our friend rest in eternal peace!
