Marckarthur’s Fearless Fight. I want to tell you about Marckarthur Johnson, a wonderful person, who is going through an extremely difficult time in his life. Marckarthur is a generous and kind young man from Chicago who has maintained a positive mindset despite the many hospital stays for the treatment of a diseased liver.

Markarthur is under the care of the Northwestern Memorial Hospital and is currently on the waiting list for a liver transport. His compromised immune system has allowed the disease to damage many of his internal organs. Since February, Marckarthur has undergone a painful Abdominal Tap to drain fluid build-up in his abdomen every 10 days. He has had repeated blackouts because of high ammonia levels in his blood. He had a shunt allowing adjacent blood vessels that help reduce the pressure of blood flowing through his liver.

Nonetheless, Marckarthur and his medical team have persisted despite the fear and uncertainty of how he could survive. Marckarthur, a former football star who played football at Northwestern Oklahoma State University and as a professional for both the Canadian Football League and the Indoor Football Leagues. He has always kept himself in astonishing shape, and the staff at Northwestern Memorial have been amazed at his ability to sustain despite the spread of the disease.

Marckarthur is facing a long road to recovery, both medically and financially. His sickness has kept him from working, impacting his housing situation. We ask for your help by donating and sharing this page for him.
