Marci's Medical Treatment

Marci is a labrador mixed with a pit-bull who has quite the personality including being very loving, and kind to anyone who has met her. She is always greeting you at the door ready to welcome you with kisses and sometimes would get really excited forgetting she is a big baby. She has a lifelong partner in crime who is 3x smaller than her (Lucas a chihuahua). They always do everything together and lift each other up. Recently Marci has not been doing well with her health. She was healthy one moment and started going downhill out of the blue. She has not been the same since always looking really sad and interacting less. She started off by slowly eating less to throwing up everything she would eat including water. Her stool was very concerning in color and she was very lethargic.

We took her to the Emergency Hospital on Saturday afternoon where we could only afford to pay for one night. The total cost for her 2 nights of hospitalization was roughly 8k not including additional tests needed. I do not have the funds for the treatment she needed and was only able to cover basic care and became aware that the treatment she needed was aggressive and too expensive.
The vet told us in order for her to get better was to start aggressive treatment right away, unfortunately, there was no option for payment plans, and needed to pay in full amount. The diagnosis they found were severe pancreatitis; severe gastroenterocolitis and suspects cholangiohepatitis /cholecystitis. As well as chronic vomiting/diarrhea and bloody stool.

She has been with us since she was 3 months old and has brought so much happiness and light to our family. There is never a day where she fails to make us laugh and has helped me maneuver through my mental health. We have unfortunately lost a kitty in our household due to cancer and to imagine the loss of another furbaby in the span of fewer than 4 years has been extremely difficult for us to even think about.

It has been a very difficult situation financially and have spent all of my earnings to be able to get her basic care. She is in pain and we are not able to move forward without paying for the care she deserves. I have called to schedule an appointment with her primary doctor and hope to get her checked out once again no later than Wednesday. She is currently on 4 different medications which is all we could do up until now.

I am holding on to hope that she will get better however if it were the case that she is suffering too much, the funds will be going towards stopping her from no longer suffering. As of now my family and I are taking it day by day. I wish animals weren't able to suffer as much as they do. If I could take her place I would take it instantly to stop her from suffering or feeling pain.

I know this is a difficult time for us all and would appreciate any help you can offer.
