Hello all, I’m writing this message to plead for your kindness, my name is Taylor and I am writing this for my mother whom was diagnosed with als ( Lou Gerigs disease) in September of 2021 and since the time of her diagnosis she has experienced a significant decline in her motor functions. Als is a progressive disease that attacks your body piece by piece, when my mom first noticed signs of it her foot simply wouldn’t lift up when she went to walk. As it progressed it climbed through her leg and into her arm, eventually taking both legs and arms from her. At this stage of her disease she has lost most of her mobility, and is wheele chair ridden. My father is her main care taker and I help pull the slack. She has to have someone with her at all times. Someone to feed her, someone to make sure she is hydrated and someone to take her into the bathroom lift her on and off the toilet and change her clothes. It takes both of us to get her in and out of the shower as we have not had the money to get a handicap accessible shower installed.
we are asking for this money to help with the mountain of past medical bills, funeral expenses, and to help us put in a handicap shower. We have run out of ideas, and time is running out quickly, we have explored every other option, and due to unforeseen circumstances we have been left alone to fight this. The state won’t pay her social security credits back that she payed while she worked the majority of her life because she lived in Texas and took care of my sisters while my dad was deployed in the military, and falls 7 credits short of the minimum requirement to collect social security and get some financial relief for this horrid disease. We currently have a couple of fund raisers planed if you would like information on those please reach out to me or my father. The only Reason I’m starting this is as a last resort to help relieve the financial burden that has been placed on us. We have had to spend every cent we can come up with to get the house as handicap accessible as possible and arrange transportation for her as well.
my father is an Air Force veteran and my mom an air force spouse that took care of my sisters and I while my dad served our country. She has given me and my sisters a life that I could never thank her enough for. So now I ask for your help to repay some of that kindness. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and if you can donate thank you so much. If not that’s okay, please just help share our story and keep her in your prayers. Thank you.
