Marching for Kate
Donation protected
We are a group of 8 RAF servicemen (super fit, highly trained etc) and 3 ladies (perhaps not quite so fit or highly trained!) and we are Marching for Kate to raise money towards the cancer fight of our friend Kate Anne Douglas.
Kate has been living with secondary breast cancer for6 years and we are raising money to help fund immunotherapy treatment at the Hallwang Clinic in Germany, after Kate recently ran out of treatment options here in the UK. In fact she was advised to get her affairs in order as it ws unlikely she would see Christmas 2016.
So far the KeepingKate campaign has raised enough money for Kate to start her treatment but it is really expensive and we want to raise even more so that she can continue her treatment.
So...... we will be marching from RAF Leeming in North Yorkshire to the Black Bull Hotel in Old Langho, Blackburn -a distance of approx 75 miles - over the 8th, 9th and 10th February 2017. We will be carrying (60-80lbs per person) everything we need for the duration of the march i.e. sleeping bags, water, rations etc and will be sleeping rough (no tents!!) along the route.
It will be a tough challenge (more tough for some of us than others!!) so please please support us and Kate by donating via our Go Fund me page.
