As of March 4th, we have over 10,000 people respond to the event page and the numbers are just going to keep on growing. In order to accommodate this, we are asking for small contributions from everyday people who want to see this positive change.
Your contributions will help pay for the resources we need, such as security, traffic control services, sound equipment, transportation, megaphones, portable toilets, parking, music, tables, podiums, microphones, advertising, printing, t-shirts, food, etc. The money raised will also help pay for the transportation of students to plan out our meetings in person. Houston is such a large city, we have people from Katy to Baytown, from Conroe to Pasadena, working on our committees. Nothing is more effective than working together in person. Once the March has concluded, any funds left over will go to support our post-March activities, which will be announced at the event. If you have a problem with this and have donated, please reach out to me for a refund.
We, the students, in charge of organizing the event, humbly and greatly appreciate your donations and support.
Florencia Salazar, my mother, will be in charge of withdrawals as I’m not 18 years of age. She will be withdrawing from a personal account while we work on getting a bank account specifically for the March.
Our fundraising committee will be tasked with withdrawing the money and allocating the funds raised, all of which will be made public.
