55KM March for Lee Reeves & The Irish Heart Foundation
Students of the Physical Training Instructor Course in the Irish Defence Forces will be undertaking a challenging 55km march from the Curragh Camp to the Mater and Beaumont Hospitals in Dublin to raise much needed funds for two causes close to our hearts.
Our primary aim is to support Lee Reeves a serving member of the Irish Defence Forces who suffered a serious head injury during a professional boxing bout on 1 August and has received care at Beaumont & Mater hospitals
We will also be raising funds for the Irish Heart Foundation in memory of a fellow student’s father, who received care at the Mater Hospital while living with multiple heart conditions before sadly passing away from cardiac arrest.
As PTI students, we believe in resilience, teamwork and supporting others through difficult times We hope to put these values into action through this 55km challenge.
All funds raised will be split as follows:
- 60% to Lee Reeves’ GoFundMe to support him and his loved ones.
- 40% to the Irish Heart Foundation to support its vital work.
Any donation, no matter how big or small, would mean a great deal to us and help make a difference to these two important causes.
