Hi my name is Cindy and I am raising funds for Marcey & Art Compton. I met Art many years ago through ice hockey. Over the years it was a natural progression from my husband, Doug, and I knowing just Art to getting to know Marcey as well. When I heard what had happened there was no question that I would join our hockey family in giving/getting them help for one simple reason…they’d be the first ones to step up and do the same for us.
About a week ago Marcey was having some medical issues. They were concerning enough that Art felt the need to take her to the hospital. The hospital, realizing how serious her condition was, had her airlifted to UPenn in Philadelphia where she was diagnosed with a stroke with a brain bleed. After a week+ of hospital care they are now trying to make arrangements to move her to a rehabilitation hospital for an undetermined amount of time.
Unfortunately I have had the experience of having a couple family members that have been stroke victims. It is never a quick and easy recovery. For most patients there are lasting affects to surpass or learn to deal with. In addition Marcey & Art have the continuing responsibility of their children as well as businesses that they each have to deal with now as well. As if worrying about one thing wasn’t enough. Aside from the financial burden the quagmire of emotions their facing can be astronomical.
To make matters worse the Comptons have recently received word that their insurance company is refusing to cover some of the costs already incurred.
Please help us help the Comptons cover their expenses through this difficult time. Funds raised will be passed directly to the family to cover medical and living expenses.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
