Friends and Family, as many of you know, Marcelo was in an awful motorcycle accident on January 1, 2022 that nearly took his life.
Marcelo spent over a month in the hospital, recovering from many injuries. He sustained brain hemorrhaging, multiple facial fractures, pelvic fractures, and a shattered knee which required reconstructive surgeries. These medical bills are expected to be substantial alongside his rehabilitation expenses. Marcelo is finally back home healing but he is on crutches. Doctors say he may not be able to return to work for up to a year.
Marcelo and I have worked together for over seven years. Throughout our time as coworkers and friends, I have seen how resolute, determined, hard-working and self-sufficient he is. Marcelo isn’t the type to ask for handouts, but he’ll always be there for you to lend a helping hand. Without hesitation, he would drop whatever he had going on in order to help out someone else, from friends and family to even strangers. His humor and laughter are infectious, and he has a unique ability to make everyone around him feel better. If you know Marcelo, you know he is genuine, honest, and kind-hearted, but he is also as tough as they come. He’s dealt with a lot of hardships and injuries throughout his life, and this is just another hurdle we know he will overcome. He has endured so much adversity already, and I don’t want him to face this battle alone. That’s why I am asking for help on his behalf. In an effort to take some of the stress off Marcelo while he is recovering and rehabilitating, I have created a GoFundMe page to help him with medical expenses, living expenses, and everything in between. Due to the severity of the injuries and the amount of time he’ll be unable to work, I have set a goal of $15,000, so he may focus on getting better. Whether you know Marcelo personally or are just reading about his story for the first time, please consider donating. If you are unable to contribute, please keep the love flowing and share the link. As he continues to improve every day, Marcelo, his friends, and family sincerely believe he will come out on the other side of this even stronger than before!
