On Tuesday, October 24th 2023 we lost our beloved father, Marcelo Murillo. He was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in September 2023 and although things seemed to be getting better. Unfortunately, he lost his battle due to the cancer spreading to his spine and brain. Everything happened so quickly but we thank God for giving us that extra month with him.
To know our dad was to love him. From the moment you met him he made you feel comfortable with his contagious smile. He enjoyed making people laugh. He was kind hearted and witty, a jokester, and a talented upholster. He was also a proud Jehovahs Witness who never lost his faith is God. He is remembered for being a master at everything, from building custom furniture to working on vintage cars. It never ceased to amaze us how he always found the solution to the problem. His creativity, imagination, and intelligence was unmatched. On top of that our dad was the biggest sports fan you would ever meet. From golf, to poker, to soccer, there was no sport he didn’t know about. But he was a die hard Lakers, Steelers, and Dodger fan.
Family was everything to him. Marcelo wasn’t only a father, but an amazing son, brother, uncle and friend. It brings us comfort to know he’s no longer in pain and is resting peacefully. We will miss him every day for the rest of our lives. Our dad’s burial site is currently only a block of cement. We would appreciate your help in building him a proper tombstone, along with any unpaid funeral and medical expenses. A little goes a long way, so anything is helpful. We’d like to thank everyone for all the prayers, love, and support we have been shown as we continue to process through this difficult time. We know our dad would want us to be happy and we lean on God to guide us. Thank you all ❤️
