It’s with great sadness that I’m letting you know that Marcelle passed away peacefully, with her family around her, on Sunday morning 27 April - Freedom Day in South Africa. She had pneumonia and it was just too much for her weakened lungs to fight off.
Rest in peace our beautiful, amazing, brave, strong Marcy. Thank you for being my sister, my advisor and friend all our lives together. You were the best sister, daughter, wife, auntie, sister-in-law and friend we could ever have asked for. Love you sooooo much!
Hi, my name is Estelle and today I’m reaching out to you with a deep sense of urgency and a humble plea for help on behalf of my beautiful sister Marcelle.
Marcelle has been diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer that's metastasized to her lungs. This is absolutely devastating news and we are heartbroken.
Marcy has always been there for our family through thick and thin. She is a devoted wife to Malcolm and, if you know her personally, you’ll know she is a selfless, kind and caring person, always ready to help others.
Marcelle is currently being seen at a government-funded hospital in Cape Town as her medical aid doesn’t cover her treatment. Even so, she has to pay for this care. The diagnosis has been extremely slow and time is of the utmost urgency to begin treatment.
Our goal is to raise funds to help Marcelle seek private treatment, giving her the best chance to fight this cruel disease. The funds raised will help immensely lighten the financial burden, allowing Marcy to focus on her health.
