Marcel Needs Your Help
Donation protected
Hi, my name's Elise and I'm raising funds in relief of monthly expenses for my brother Marcel and his family while he undergoes diagnosis and treatment.
For those of you who don't know, on March 14th Marcel was admitted to the hospital in Chatham, Ontario due to confusion & migraine lasting 2+ weeks. After, he was transferred to London for 3 weeks where he had a series of tests, scans, and over a dozen spinal taps. The tests confirmed he had had a stroke, but doctors suspect he has Central Nervous System Vasculitis. Medical professionals started treating it right away with steroids and pain meds. He was sent home just in time for his birthday, feeling positive and grateful.
Ten days later he was rushed back to the hospital with another stroke. Since then he's had more tests and scans and a successful brain biopsy. However, being off steroids caused swelling and, unfortunately, he had 3 more strokes since the procedure. Now he's back on steroids regardless of the risk of infection. He is now on blood thinners to reduce the chance of another stroke as well as insulin, as he has developed diabetes in this process. The doctors are still unsure of his exact diagnosis, as the results of the biopsy haven't been received yet.
Monique, his devoted wife, has been by Marcel’s side throughout this difficult journey, tirelessly commuting back and forth from Chatham to London to support him. We deeply appreciate all the hopes and prayers for Marcel’s recovery. Unfortunately, the past few weeks have brought significant financial strain on Marcel and Monique due to ongoing medical and related expenses.
To help ease this burden, we are kindly asking for donations to support Marcel and his family during this challenging time. Contributions can be made securely through this GoFundMe page set up for Marcel, or by e-transfer to [email redacted]. Cash donations are also warmly welcomed. Every donation, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference. If preferred, you can also make a cash donation to the family.
Your generosity and support mean the world to us and are deeply appreciated as we navigate this difficult period together. Thank you all in advance for your generous support!
