McCrae Williams: 1/29/98 - 9/12/17
McCrae was extremely passionate about everything he pursued; he was avidly dedicated to the game of lacrosse, his artistic interests, and all those around him.
After a few weeks at Lafayette college where McCrae was a lacrosse recruit, he sustained a fatal head injury following a lacrosse initiation event. Rather than calling for help, his friends put him in his bed and put a backpack on him—he was left for 22 hours until medical action was taken. McCrae passed away two days later from his injury. As a goalie, he was the last line of defense. In his death, he is the last line of defense for the recipients of 5 of his organs, whose lives he saved.

McCrae Williams Foundation
Student deaths on college campuses are becoming an increasing problem, it is on the mind of every parent who sends their child off to school. Unfortunately, there are only several underfunded organizations aiming to address and resolve this issue that has senselessly taken so many lives. Donations will immensely help to raise awareness and hopefully end this unaddressed issue.
Foundation's Mission Statement: Make a positive change in memory of McCrae, such as advocating the importance of Good Samaritan policies on college campuses and bringing national attention to the dangerous practice of JanSporting (Backpacking, DrunkPacking or Turtling).
2018 Boston Marathon
This year three of McCrae's closest friends, Brooke Raffone, Lily Macnamara and Emre Toner are running the 2018 Boston Marathon in honor of McCrae to raise funds for the McCrae James Williams Foundation established in his memory. This is their first endeavor in endurance running and a testament to the deep love held by those who knew McCrae. Each runner is expected to raise $7,500 so the collective goal is to hopefully reach $23,000. All and any donations are greatly appreciated.
