Marathon with Velocity Student Ministries

My name is Austin Furman, and I have been the Velocity Student Pastor at Tri County Church for the past 7 years. I am raising funds for my student ministry so that we can help our ministry grow by providing more materials to students, providing funds for events and camps, and more!

I am currently training to run a marathon on October 6th, 2024. I started my fitness journey for a few reasons. I have been blessed to be married to my best friend Courtney for 10 years and we have 3 amazing children. Our daughter, Sullivan, is 6 and our twin boys, Baron and Westin, are 5. I want to be the best husband and father I can be for them.

Once I started to tell people about my goal to run a marathon, I had a bunch of support and encouragement. There were a few who gave me the look like it was going to be impossible to do. I know it wasn't on purpose, but it was a reactive response. That is when my newest reason to run a marathon developed: I never want my students to hold back from something they feel they want to try. If they put their minds to it and put in the work, then they can always dream big.

Since I'm putting in the work and proving that it is possible for me to finish, I might as well raise some funds for an incredible group of students who are growing each week so that we can reach more students!
