Hi everyone, I’m Charlie and on Sunday the 5th of october, I will be running in Chester marathon 2025 in aid of dementia UK and Parkinson’s UK.

When I started my running journey I never thought I’d be running a marathon but when things get tough my mind focuses to the struggles that both my grandparents had to endure during the later stages of their lives and running suddenly feels a lot easier.

I lost my grandad and grandma to dementia and Parkinson’s in September 2016 and January 2022.

Then it clicked, I can do something I have recently learnt to enjoy while doing it for a great cause and remembering two very special people in my life and two people who shaped me to who I am today and hopefully on Sunday the 5th of October they’ll be somewhere smiling like in the picture above.

I am so grateful for all the support from my friends and family so far in this journey and I will be grateful for any donations to these two special causes close to my heart.
