Edinburgh Marathon for the Pudumai Penn Foundation

Since 2022, I have been volunteering for the Pudumai Penn Foundation, an NGO based in Chennai, India. Pudumai Penn provides teenage girls from disadvantaged backgrounds with training in employable skills, like English or computing.

My role is to independently produce their bi-monthly newsletter. For this, I interview current students and alumnae on their story. Resoundingly, their life was changed by the opportunities provided by Pudumai Penn - these girls are often the first generation in their family to even go to school. Alumnae stories are particularly promising, as these girls are all in the workforce now, in a diverse range of sectors.

Pudumai Penn has a transformative and direct impact on the lives of these girls. It is an organisation I am proud to fundraise for, when I run the Edinburgh marathon in May 2024.
