Marathon for Pancreatic Cancer
Hi, I’m Stefan,
On the 26th of April 2025, I’ll be running a marathon as part of the Flawed Hero Movement to raise money for Pancreatic Cancer UK.
This isn’t your typical marathon. It starts at 12am in Letchworth, just hours before the London Marathon kicks off later that morning. As if running a marathon wasn’t hard enough, doing it through the middle of the night adds an entirely new level of challenge—but it’s nothing compared to what those battling cancer endure every single day.
I’ve avoided running for years because, to be honest, I hate it. But this year, I’m pushing myself for a cause that means so much to me.
In July 2024, I lost my father. Although he didn’t pass away from pancreatic cancer, this run is my way of honoring his memory. Losing him has been life-changing, and I carry the weight of his absence every day.
This marathon is also dedicated to the memory of another incredible man. One of my closest friends lost his father to pancreatic cancer—a man who was like family to us all. Seeing how this disease tore through their lives was devastating, and it made me realise how important it is to support charities like Pancreatic Cancer UK.
The Flawed Hero Movement was started by one of my clients, who has since become a close friend. For years, he’s been encouraging me to join, and his passion (and persistence!) finally convinced me to step up and take on this challenge.
Cancer, in any form, is awful. It tears families apart, steals loved ones too soon, and leaves a void that can never truly be filled. Pancreatic cancer is particularly cruel, with survival rates that are heartbreakingly low. That’s why I’m running—to raise awareness, fund life-saving research, and contribute to the hope that one day, there will be better treatments, earlier detection, and ultimately, a cure.
If you can, please consider donating. No matter how small, your support will go directly to Pancreatic Cancer UK to help fund their incredible work and provide support to those affected by this devastating disease.
Thank you for helping me turn this marathon into something meaningful—not just for me, but for everyone fighting cancer and for the memory of my father and my friend’s father.
