Marathon For Creed
As some of you may or may not know back in August 2021 Creed was admitted to Royal Glamorgan Hospital with breathing difficulties where he was placed on oxygen to help his respiratory function
In the early hours that morning he deteriorated and was given further treatment by way of a CPAP machine.
Further investigations of his chest made the difficult decision for the Medics to transport him to Noah’s Ark hospital and put him into an induced coma.
Creed had suffered a collapsed lung caused from bronchiolitis which to some is a common viral infection however that wasn’t the case for Creed at only 5 months old.
As you can imagine this short period of time turned our lives upside down not knowing if or when he would be extubated.
For 5 days we we able to stay at our sons bedside thanks to the Noah’s Ark Children’s hospital facilities at the University Hospital of Wales.
Thankfully our son was awoken from his coma and survived this terrible illness and we came through the one of the worst ordeals any parents can endure.
We feel very lucky to have been able to come home with our baby after 2 weeks however some parents can’t bring there children home and none should have to go through that pain.
We are not the first and unfortunately will not be the last to use Noah’s Ark facilities which have been likened by Parents to being part of a big family or a home away from home. With the ethos of family at their heart, the charity is proud to fund support services that make being in hospital that little easier, for the young patients themselves but also for their parents and siblings.
As a thank you to the amazing staff who cared for our little boy and the facilities The Noahs Ark foundation provided we are setting up a go fund me page and Creeds Dad Ben will be running a marathon to raise money for this great cause.
Many thanks in anticipation of your support
