London/Fairfield CT - Marathon for COVID-19
Donation protected
Friends,
We want to say a big THANK YOU to everyone for all of your support. We finished our back to back half marathons a few hours ago, and had a combined time of 3:37 hours 36 seconds. Jack was the pacesetter at 8:09 per mile vs the old guy at 8:27. We have been amazed at the generosity of our donors and will keep the fundraiser going through the end of UK Easter weekend, or end of day Monday April 13th (link below). As we write this email, donors have contributed over 8,000 GBP/10,000 USD. Amazing! Proceeds will be split evenly between the National Emergencies Trust in the UK and the Bridgeport Hospital COVID-19 Support Fund in Bridgeport, CT. Many many thanks again!
Happy Easter.

**UPDATE**
My dad has joined the party! When I finish my half marathon in London, John will start his own half in Fairfield CT. We will combine to run a full marathon between us. See an updated message below, including which charity my dad will be running on behalf of. Thanks for the support everyone!

Family & Friends,
The UK and NYC metropolitan area, along with the rest of the world, are dealing with an unprecedented, largely unknown virus, affecting the lives of many. Hospitals and healthcare workers are on the front lines, working around the clock with limited resources, to keep us healthy and safe.
In an effort to help, I’ll be running a half marathon around London (abiding by lockdown rules) over Easter Weekend to raise money for the National Emergencies Trust, which has launched a fundraising appeal (run by the British Red Cross) to help those most affected by the virus. When I finish my half, my dad John will embark on his own half marathon in Fairfield CT to raise money for the Bridgeport CT Hospital COVID-19 Fund. Together we’ll do a full marathon! If you are able, please consider donating to our causes. Any sum is hugely appreciated. My dad and I will each be matching total donations up to $1000.
To make things a little more interesting, on top of making a regular donation, you can also email me or my Dad separately with a pledge to donate a seperate amount if either of us are to beat a certain time, set by you! These donations will be made (or not made) at the end of each run. And trust me, for the large part, these donations will be pretty safe... there's been no formal training going on over here!
We’ll try and figure out the best way to keep everyone updated during the run. At the very least checking in on Instagram live every 3-4 miles.
Let's go big, have some fun, and stay healthy!
With love,
John & Jack
