Maranda's Hope Brain and Body Recovery

Hello. My name is Alex. A group of people, including myself, are contributing and trying to raise money so Maranda (my lovely girlfriend) can start a program that helps with post TBI (traumatic brain injury) life.

When Maranda was 17, she was in a horrific accident where she suffered multiple injuries including a diffuse axonal injury, one of worst kind of TBIs. At that time, the doctors told her family she wouldnt live and if she did, her quality of life would be very poor. Maranda overcame the odds, & relearned how to walk, talk and live all over again. Over the past 16 years (since the accident) she still deals with nerve issues, as well as memory problems that affect her daily life.

Now today, her health is declining... she can barely walk at all anymore and she's falling a lot. She's had a recent trip to the Emergency Room after falling, suffering a concussion, receiving several stitches and knocking most of her teeth loose.

Maranda and I agreed that she needs help. A couple days later she scheduled an initial appointment at a Brain Trauma Recovery Center which cost $300 and was not covered by insurance. The program can correct most of her issues and will help her walk again, but it's not covered by insurance. This program costs about $15,000 (including tranportation). We are asking for help to cover the program, as we cannot afford it on our own, but we really believe it can help her.
