Marana's Stem Cell Procedure for Kidney Failure
Donation protected
Marana is my beloved cousin, but also a devoted daughter, fun loving friend and loyal sister. She is a go-getter who practices jiu jitsu, works for her brother's company, and is a workout fiend. She does all of this despite being blind. Her enthusiasm, spunk and sass is contagious and she has never met a stranger!
Her Type I Diabetes has wreaked havoc on her body, causing blindness at the age of 25. It has now damaged her kidneys almost to the point of necesitating a transplant.
The National Stem Cell Institute is now offering a treatment where stem cells, out of the patient's own body, can be used to regenerate some of the patient's kidney cells, thereby foregoing the need of dialysis or a transplant.
Marana has a deep commitment to her health, she restricts her diet severely, exercises tirelessly, but needs our help to continue to live a full life. She currently battles constant dizziness and fatigue. A transplant would mean steroid medications that would cause dangerously high blood sugar levels that would further damage her body. Stem cell treatment would allow her body to regulate her blood pressure, like it should, and would allow her to function more normally. This means continuing her active lifestyle, working, and loving on her friends and family.
We are asking that you give any amount that you are able, to fund the treatment. Funds would also go toward her travel to and from Florida to receive the procedures. Thank you in advance!! Your help is an answer to many prayers!!
